Nonviolent Communication
This is an excerpt from Marshal Rosenberg's brilliant book.He demonstrates a way of communicating which: when speaking reduces the risk that the other person will become defensive, and when listening helps to hear the message behind the words of someone who isn't communicating clearly.

I recommend reading the entire book for greater context. It is a powerful paradigm shift.I tried searching for a video summary online, but found the top results lacklustre.
Waking Up
I had already been on several 10-day silent meditation retreats, but it wasn't until using the Waking Up app that I began to really understand meditation.If you don't have a regular practise, I recommend trying the Introductory Course. It's about 20 minutes a day split into theory and practice.If others are willing, it can be lovely to have this as a shared experience.
